Method
- Using a skillet of your choice, turn on medium heat
- Put the meat in a large bowl and crumble the bread into crumbs/pieces and add to the meat mixture.
- add salt and pepper, along with the parsley, egg, garlic powder, and the cheese
- Using your hands, begin to mix all of the ingredients and make sure it's blended well.
- I would start off adding 1/2 cup of cheese and add more if you need it. Depending on the bread you use you may need more or less. The cheese really helps the bread hold the meatball shape as well.
- Once fully combined, using a scoop or a spoon, form the meatballs and place them in the skillet, do not over crowd them, put about 5 in and flip them as they brown and cook.
- If making sauce, once they are 3/4 the way cooked, then add to the sauce to continue cooking.
- If not making sauce, place meatballs on paper towels to drain and continue cooking the rest of the meatballs until you have used up all the mixture.
- You can also freeze them once they have cooled.
Notes
Depending on the bread you use, you may need more or less the amount of cheese. Gluten free bread is dense and usually requires less cheese than regular non gluten free bread.
You may also find the mixture dry, so you can also add water 1 tablespoon at a time to get the right consistency.
